Handmade shawl, woven on a traditional loom.
The Rhenia shawl is made of premium-quality alpaca, while including details of natural Myconian lambswool and luxurious raw silk threads produced in house.
Inspired by the ancient island of Rhenia in the south of Mykonos, the piece echoes the island’s natural minimalism and raw wilderness. The silky, extra soft fibre of this alpaca shawl is guaranteed to keep you warm, while making you feel strong and serene, just like Rhenia’s unspoiled terrain.
All preparation and processing of our products is done by hand from start to finish, using ancient Greek techniques, every step of the way – from the alteration of the raw materials to the weaving of the yarn.
The production of the shawl begins with the collection of pure wool; this is obtained from the sheep without hurting the animals, cleared from dust, dirt or weeds, washed, and then spun by hand. The process of spinning involves a rotary motion through which the fibres become cohesive and firm so as to evolve into thread. The threads either retain their natural colours or are dyed using natural herbs.
Materials: 100% pure undyed, natural Myconian lambswool, natural fibre of Alpaca and raw silk threads produced in house.
